Welcome to East Wing! We’re your new neighbourhood spot for good wine, good snacks, and good company. We keep things simple, friendly and a little bit fun, pouring a fresh line-up of affordable wines by the glass each week, and switching up the mood as the night progresses. Keep an eye on the green by-the-glass prices on the board to see what we’ve got open right now, or tell us what you’d like to open next. Our bar snacks are simple but delicious: world-class cheeses, cured meats, and a vibe that’s more “come as you are” than “special occasion.”

East Wing is Southend's hidden gem. Tucked away in a secret room beyond the dart boards, East Wing is an oasis of wine, cocktails and speakeasy vibes. Book the back lounge for a party of 40 people. Great for team catch-ups, farewell parties or milestone birthday events. Available Friday to Sunday only. Adults only, please.

In the front bar of East Wing is a long red leather banquette that can hold 20 people (with room to wiggle in a couple more). Three-quarter height bar stools make it perfect for a catch up with the lads or girls, as moving seats feels natural every time you pop up to the bar. We make cheese and charcuterie plates to order, and can organise a signature cocktail to make your night special. Available Friday to Sunday only. Adults only, please.

Smaller parties can enjoy the intimacy of our Brown Booth, which has the advantage of feeling like a large dining table. The Brown Booth is perfect for lunch or dinner parties, where a meal is on the menu. Available Friday to Sunday only. Adults only, please.

If you want to go all out for your next event you can hire the entire East Wing, which can accommodate a party of up to 60 people. Private functions require a minimum spend of $3000, payable as a deposit at the time of booking. This is refunded once the minimum spend has been reached on the night of your function. If you are unable to meet the minimum spend requirement, then only the actual amount spent will be refunded.
We are happy for you to bring cake – but no other food, please. If our function menu doesn’t float your boat, talk to our chef about your needs. He is usually happy to accommodate.
Party decorations are fine if they are free standing. No blue-tack or sticky tape or other adhesives please. No sparklers, and definitely NO confetti balloons – under any circumstances. Seriously. Have you ever tried to vacuum that stuff up when the balloons burst? Literally impossible.
All catering and room hire must be paid for at the time of booking. Cancellations can be made up until 48 hours prior to your event for a full refund. After this time, your deposit is forfeit.
