PRIVATE FUNCTIONS @ SOUTHEND
The Venue
East Wing wine and cocktail bar is our new function space, tucked away in a private wing of Southend Hotel. It’s perfect for birthdays, leaving parties, Christenings, engagement parties, work functions and get-togethers.
Party Size
East Wing comfortably holds between 20 and 60 guests across a mix of low and bar-height seating. There is plenty of room in front of the bar to mingle, and when things heat up we can push the tables back to create a small dance floor.
Cost
Room hire is $300 for the first 3 hours, plus $100 for every hour after that. This includes your own private bar and bartender. Fee is payable at the time of booking, and fully refundable in the event of cancellation, provided we receive at least 48 hours notice. Otherwise the fee is forfeit.
Drinks Packages
Our drinks packages run for 3 hours max, after which all drinks will be charged at the normal rate. All adults in the party must opt in to the drinks package. Final numbers must be provided 24 hours prior to your event, and payment must be made at this time.

Frequently Asked Questions:
What if I have to cancel?
We offer a full refund if we hear from you 48 hours before your event. After this time, the cost of your catering and room hire is forfeit.
Can I bring decorations?
Yes, but only if they are free standing and do not require adhesive of any sort eg sticky tape or blue tack. Also – no confetti please
Can I bring my own food?
No, sorry – though you are very welcome to bring a cake. We can store it in our fridge until the time is right, and bring it out with all candles blazing when you give us the nod
Are kids allowed?
Yes, but they must remain in the company of a responsible adult at all times.
So – can I have my kids birthday party here?
Absolutely not. We are a licensed venue. East Wing is a wine and cocktail bar. No kids parties allowed. No 18th’s either, sorry.
Can I have live music?
We have music out in our main bar on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Providing your event isn’t on one of these days, then a solo live musician is a great addition to your party. Unfortunately, there are some rules around noise to follow here: 1) Solo acts only 2) no drum kits 3) live music must stop at 10pm. Please let us know if you need help finding a musician – we have a great line up of artists who would love to help you celebrate your special day. Price guide: Soloist = $500. DJ = $1000.
I have made a Spotify playlist. Can I play it?
Sure! Just make it public so we can find it, and we’ll pump it out of our speakers.
What if our time is up but we still want to party?
If you are having so much fun on the night that you can’t bear the thought of going home yet, please chat to your friendly bartender. They will find you a space in the main bar so you can carry on partying.
What time does the bar close? Our license is until midnight (10pm on Sundays). Bar closes half an hour prior

Old Dublin Corner
For an informal party of up to 30 people, out and amongst the action in the main bar, we recommend booking the Old Dublin Corner. Chairs can be arranged around a larger area covering 3 separate tables and two long benches, Best seats in the house to watch our live music.
